eTeam BRIT is the official sim racing arm of Team BRIT, made up of disabled drivers competing in esport competitions.
We are not a charity, but a competitive esport team. Some of our drivers use specially adapted equipment that allows us to compete on a level playing field with able-bodied drivers.
We aim to raise awareness of disability sport through our achievements online. As part of this exposure, we want to work with manufacturers to develop a hand control system that can be used by more disabled drivers all over the world and introduce them to sim racing.
We compete in iRacing - regarded as the premier motorsport racing simulation in the world. Using its sophisticated irating and safety rating, all of our drivers have had to put in 100s of laps to ensure they are fast enough and safe enough to compete. This will allow them to compete in some of iracings top races including Le Mans 24 hours, Daytona 24 hours, Bathurst 12 hours and the Indianapolis 500.
In 2019 we entered races in GT3, GTE, TCR and oval races. Our highlight was our entry into the 2019 Petit Le Mans where we finished 6th.
In 2021 we plan to continue racing in GT and touring car classes taking on some of the biggest esports teams on the planet and demonstrating how fast we can be despite our challenges.
Assetto Corsa Competizione
Assetto Corsa Competizone or ACC as it is also known is the official simulation of the SRO - the founding body of GT3 racing. Once again using a sophisticated safety rating system we compete in top class events including the E-Sports Designs Cayman Supercup, Ingear Motorsport British GT, the official British GT Championship and our very own GT Challenge.
Our highlights so far this year Bobby Trundley holding of reigning British GT champion Sandy Mitchell to secure 4th place at Donington Park.
Regarded by many to be the most realistic simulation out there, rFactor 2 has given us some of our most intense racing to date with entries in the touring car series VMO TCUK Championship as well as our endurance races in the GTR24H Endurance eRacing World Championships.
Our highlights include Formula One World Champion Jenson Button joining us for season 2 of the GT Challenge at Bathurst and Adelaide.
Our mission is shared with Team BRIT:
- To create equal opportunities in motorsport for people with physical and psychological disabilities.
- To use technological innovation to enable disabled drivers to compete on equal terms
- To support disabled racing drivers in returning to motorsport
- To provide injured troops with opportunities to participate in competitive motorsport
Our project will show military veterans, disabled people and the world, that they can achieve goals they never thought they were capable of achieving.
